2010 Schaumburg Flyers Real Hero to be Named at Alexian Field

Alexian Brothers Hospital Network and the Schaumburg Flyers have partnered to provide the 2010 Schaumburg Flyers Real Hero Award to a deserving person who has demonstrated a selfless commitment to those in need in their community. Flyers fans are encouraged to nominate their Real Hero, and the winner will be selected by the Flyers, the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network, and Flyers fans. In the past, Flyers Real Heroes have ranged from teachers, to members of the military, police and fire departments, and community volunteers.  The Flyers will provide the 2010 Real Hero with 4 Club Seat Season Tickets at Alexian Field.  

"The Alexian Brothers Hospital Network is pleased to be a partner and participate in the 2010 Schaumburg Flyers Real Hero Award. Recognizing those who have dedicated their lives to serving others is an important part of any community," Said Matt Wakely, Director of Public Relations for Alexian Brothers Hospital Network.

Fans can send their Real Hero nomination letter to info@flyersbaseball.com with the subject line "Real Hero."  Letters will be accepted until February 7, 2010. Flyers fans will have the opportunity to choose the winner in an online voting poll among the final four candidates chosen by the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network and the Schaumburg Flyers.  The winner will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony on the field Sunday, May 30th prior to the 1:20 pm game between the Flyers and the Gary SouthShore Railcats.
